Gabe Helseth threw for 214 yards and had two touchdowns last night at Hood River Valley and the Riverhawks dropped the opening game of the 2019 season to the Eagles 36-22. The Eagles running back Tanner Fletcher proved to much to handle racking up 271 yards, 2 TD’s on 34 carries. The Riverhawks out gained the Eagles in total yardage 383 to 317 and averaged 5.4 yards running 71 plays from the line of scrimmage.
Penalties hurt the Hawks as they racked up 145 yards on 20 penalties, Hood River had 8 for 76 yards. Zac Anderson was Helseth’s favorite target with 7 receptions for 118 yards and 1 TD. TJ Green rushed for 91 yards on 11 carries averaging 8.3 yards per carry, Green also had a interception return for 24 yards. Dalles Seufalemua lead the Hawks with 13.5 tackles, 3 of them for a loss of 9 yards and forced 2 fumbles. Riverhawk’s open up at home next Friday vs. La Grande at Sid White Field with a 7 PM scheduled kick off.
